Clinical Effects of Enoxacin in Acute Otorhinolaryngological Infections



Abstract
Enoxacin is new oral synthetic pyridone carboxylic antibacterial agent. It has high activity agairst both Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria.
The clinical efficacy of enoxacin in 35 patients with Acute otorhinolaryngological infections were studi ~d for 3 months, and following results were obtained.
1. In 9 cases with acute otitis media, efficacy rate was showed 77.8% (7-cases)
2. In 6 cases with acute Ext. otitis, efficacy rate was showed 83.3% (5 cases) 3. In 10 cases with acute tonsillitis, efficacy rate was showed 80.0% (8 cases)
4. In 7 cases with acute pharyngolaryngitis, efficacy rate was showed 71.4% (5 cases) 5. In 3 cases with peritonsillar abscess, efficacy rate was showed 100.0% (3 cases)
We conclude that Enoxacin is a highly promising antibacterial agent in otorhinolaryngological infections, especially in acute otitis media and ext otitis and Acute tonsillo-pharyngolaryngitis.
